NASA's James Webb Space Telescope being encapsulated within the Ariane 5 payload fairing Dec. 17. Hours after saying a launch readiness review confirmed plans for a Dec. 24 launch, officials said weather would delay the launch by at least a day.

A $10 billion space telescope that has suffered years of delays because of technical problems will have to remain on Earth at least one more day, this time because of poor weather.
