Terran Orbital announced an agreement with Space Florida in September to establish a manufacturing facility on Florida’s Merritt Island large enough to produce more than 1,000 satellites per year.

The Sunshine State’s efforts to lure commercial space ventures began well before the sun set on the Space Shuttle era.
