FCC unveils proposed satellite direct-to-device regulatory framework

Jessica Rosenworcel, chair of the FCC, which says the RDOF program has authorized more than $6 billion in funding to bring primarily fiber gigabit broadband services to more than 3,458,000 locations across the United States.

The U.S. Federal Communications Commission unveiled its proposed framework March 17 for regulating the use of terrestrial wireless spectrum from space for connecting smartphones beyond the reach of cell towers.
