PARIS — Satellite fleet operator Intelsat was unsuccessful in its May 3 attempt to shut down the electronics payload of its Galaxy 15 satellite, which in early April ceased responding to ground commands and is in an uncontrolled drift, with a fully active suite of C-band transponders, toward other satellite orbital slots, Intelsat said May 4.
