KOUROU, French Guiana — Europe’s Ariane 5 ECA rocket successfully placed two telecommunications satellites into orbit from Europe’s spaceport Oct. 29 in the sixth of a planned seven launches of the heavy-lift vehicle for 2009 and its 34th consecutive success.
