OneWeb’s first six satellites in orbit following Soyuz launch

OneWeb's first launch enables the company to bring its spectrum into use before an ITU deadline this November, ensuring vital access to airwaves for a constellation that could ultimately number 1,980 satellites.

The first six satellites in a constellation that could one day number close to 2,000 lifted off at 4:37 p.m. Eastern aboard a Soyuz rocket.
